A love bird’s scream

A love bird’s scream

I am a lovebird

Caged in a steel aviary.

Wanting to break free,

Wanting to be loved

And

To be cared for.

I am a caged

Love bird.

Whose key of the cage is

In your hands.

I am a lovebird

Who can show you the wonders of life

Like the smiling stars, the charming midnight moon

And the bloody cry of the red sun, of sunsets,

If you set me free.

If you love me.

If you care for me.

I am a lovebird

Who drinks away his pain,

His sadness,

In local bars and hotel pubs

Giving a odour of rum

From his breath,

So that no one kisses him.

I am a lovebird

But no one knows about it,

Except you.

Not even the closest of my friends,

So I scream through my silence

“Please set me free”
