DAD, I ACCEPT

DAD, I ACCEPT

There was a time I missed you
There was a time I loved you
There was time I could not express
How much I wanted to have you beside me.
From the day I was born
To
The day I am about to earn
How much you cared
It really can’t be spared.
It's today when I recited upon you
When I was not embarrassed tuning on you
When I wished a person alike you
When I could flow similar to the blue
Dad I accept
I accept, I realized you late
I accept I loved your date,
For the hurdles, you went through
For the spikes, you walked on barefoot
For the lonely nights, you slept on
Having none, to break on
For the craving stomach, you slept with,
Woke and worked with.
For the tears, I showed you that hurt you even more
And for the moments you could not even weep at
I am overwhelmed
Beyond heaven
For the fighter you are,
A great man hidden here.
I don’t remember much about the past
But when I saw people calling you boss
It filled me with pride and joy
Till I heard them calling your name
I felt drowned,
And I know so did you
But you never show,
You never did.
I am glad you didn’t give up.
And so, I promise
I will revive pride in you
For what you have made me through,
For a daughter learns from her father
You being my strength, I wander around with contempt.
