What does the word symolises?
Someone who protects us, make us feel secure, safe and important.
For long, it bas just been bounded in the relationship of a brother and a sister, or a sister to sister as well. But here I ask you all, does only a brother protects his sister?
Doesn't sister protects her brother, doesn't a husband protect his wife, and her wife protects her husband.
Is protection only the physical protection, or like movies, where a brother saves her sister from evils, bad guys, bad situation?
Isn't raksha, the one thing you preach in every relation you have, don't you expect your boyfriend, girlfriend, mom , dad, friend to protect you,not always physically but at times mentally and at times by their blessings.
It's said ,Maa ki duaaon se saari balaye taljaati hai, baap ke saye se hi bachon ki hifazat hoti hai, pati ka toh dharam hai apni patni ki raksha karna, patni karwachauth ka vrath rakhti hai apne pati ki salamati ke liye. Dada, dadi aashirvaad dete hai ki bhagwan tujhe saari balaye se durr rakhe, tu sada salamat rahe, mataraani teri raksha kare.
Is the one who saves you from all,not the one who protects you and explains the real meaning of raksha?
When Draupadi tored her saree and tied in Lord Krishna's wrist to prevent him from bleeding, he wasn't a brother to him, but someone she wanted to protect. When draupadi tied Lord Krishna rakhi, she didn't tied because he was his brother, she tied because he protected her, and she felt safe because he prevented he protected her modesty.
If you see a girl being raped, harassed and ignore it thinking 'Meri behen thodi hai' or yourself harass a girl and then go home and put your hand foward to your sister to tie you rakhi, and tell her, 'Mein teri sadaa raksha karunga.'
What kind of raksha is it, to protect one person, and disrespect all others.
Celebrate the festival to value the promise you make, its not that all girls in this world is your sister and you need to protect them because they are your sisters, but because you are a human before everything else, and it's humanity.
Sister ties rakhi to his brother to form a strong bond , and he is one person who she knows will protect her, make her feel secure and with whom she can travel the world with her head high.
Let's keep this feeling alive, the relation alive and cherish the bond which does your raksha maybe not physically always but deep down in your heart gives you a sense of security that yes, I have someone to protect me !
Raksha Sabki Karo,
Chahe Woh Aapki Behen Ho Ya Kisi Aur Ki.
