The goblin ghost of Shiva,
The consort of Buddhi, Siddhi and Riddhi,
The coach of life and a friend of mine:
Ganesha, you're a blessing in disguise.
Born with the negative intervention of Shiva,
Got to life by the Godly mother's turmeric paste,
Sacrificed a tusk for the completion of an epic,
You're the epitome of sacrifice, dear Ganesha.
Revolved around the world thrice,
For the world was the parents suffice.
Forgave the moon who mocked you once,
Taking away our beloved chanda mama once a month.
Made the rustic creature your vehicle,
And made it clear to respect one-another:
You're the epitome of equality, dear Ganesha.
While you're gone for the year once again,
Will welcome you here, again and again.
