Every year people eagerly wait for this day
To celebrate the arrival of 'Ganapati Bappa' with happiness and gay.
Lord Ganesha is the harbinger of peace and joy
And with his benign presence, sadness seems to fade away.
You are my guide, mentor and my best friend
Who always enlightens me every now and then.
You are the epitome of strength and power
And arriving on this Earth, countless blessings you shower.
You are worshipped first among all Gods
And alone you can stand against all odds.
You are known for your intelligence
Utilising which you simplify all problems with par excellence.
How can you be so generous and kind?
And everytime forgiving this ruthless mankind.
In this selfish world, if anyone I keep myself close to my heart besides my parents
Then it is you Ganesha! My dear friend.
May you keep loving and guiding us forever
As without you, there seems to be no light of hope at all.
People inspite of many differences get united upon your arrival
And celebrate these seven days with great pomp and show forgetting all rivals.
People become sad on the day of your "immersion".
And with a heavy heart, they give you farewell after doing visarjan.
People then wholeheartedly welcome you to come next year
To shower blessings upon them and saving them by standing in the frontier.
My friend Ganesha! On this pious occasion of Ganesh chaturthi, we are paying immense respect and showing gratitude towards you for always enlightening our life and standing beside our side.
And we hope that everyone gets happiness as gluttonous as your appetite, miseries as small as your mouse and success and prosperity as long as your trunk.
