I put pen to this paper to express a token of gratitude for your cherished contributions towards our country.
It's my immense pleasure to shower few words about your great personality. 'A leader is one,who knows the way, goes the way and shows the way.' My heart gets wrenched when I remember about your social life at South Africa… Hope you have a peaceful life at heaven. Your austere life not only inspired me but to numerous young minds. You are an epitome of selfless service, many virtues and peaceful thoughts. I am highly obliged to you for this united republic. You are a notable public figure then, now and ever. But as everything as it's end,On 30th January 1948 the country was filled with immense sorrow…But you are still alive in our hearts. There's no one to take your place. Before leaving , You have left a trail of light that illumines the way for striving followers like us." And departing, leave behind us footprints on sands of time.
Do you know Bapu? Map has got new lines and our family is creating homes with larger walls. And happy to see you in 2000 rupees notes, prime minister chose your specs as a logo for your dream of Swachh Bharat. It is running great by remembering your words 'Cleanliness is better than Godliness' . But in the present scenario, your saying "There's enough for everyone's need but not for anyone's greed.' is taking up light.. You are indeed a great soul and rightfully 'The Father Of Nation'. Your philosophy of truth and non violence, struggles have paved a path for us to enjoy the fruits of freedom. You are always remember -ed for your selfless service to our country and love for her citizens and tireless efforts to clear discrimination from every corner of Motherland. Your teachings ,your efforts still have great impact in today's modern era also. My words are not enough to express about your values and deeds you performed. I promise to contribute myself for further development of the country. My favourite quote : "The best way to find yourself is to lose yourself in the service of others."
Just like how you shook the world in gentle ways, I hope your children will have courage and strength to stay righteous and evoked to the supreme soul. May your blessings catalyse us..Might my letter reaches you some moment, but this little girl wishes you belated "Happy Gandhi Jayanti". I made a small effort as a tribute to you on this day, I participated in various contest and one result was out, I stood second..
I could not recognise you even if I find you covered with mask!!!!!
May your life bear all the comforts for your enormous struggles earlier. I miss you a lot….. Wish to have you in good state.
With love and respect,
Pooja Jayaram Shetty
