Once you a time in the Kingdom of Akbar,Emperor Akbar was watching over with his binoculars... standing at the sprawling balcony of his magnificent palace.
Birbal enters...and asks..."Jahapanah..what are you busy watching... with those binoculars...?"
Akbar .."Birbal...my favorite pet parrot has flown away from its cage... I've sent my guards in search for my pet parrot...but still no sign of return or message from the guards"
Birbal..."Jahapanah... the parrot must be wandering in the forest...as it may not be happy with a caged life.."
Akbar... angrily.."What do you mean? Birbal...the parrot was happier in the cage...it was made of gold and studded with precious gems...my pet parrot was fed with the most sought after and expensive chappan bhog"
Birbal.."Yes Jahapanah..." and exits quietly...
A few days later...a strange epidemic spreads in the kingdom... it's known as Covid 19... people panic due to getting infected....and stay in their homes... locked...To everyone's shock... Emperor Akbar comes in contact with the disease... doctors advise quarantine for the Emperor...for 28 days.... where the Emperor is isolated without any outside contact or communication...he is wanting to go out from quarantine and isolation..the Emperor tries to escape a few times but is placed back within the four walls of isolation and quarantine...
After 28 days when Emperor Akbar recovers he is desperate to go out of the isolation room... Emperor Akbar...runs to communicate with his known and dear ones...he wants to meet people....and be happy in the freedom...
Birbal... comes to Emperor Akbar...in his Dewan-e -Khas...."Jahapanah... congratulations... you have recovered...I have great news for you... your pet parrot has come back to the palace....the loyal bird sat outside the window of your isolation room...and didn't eat anything...poor thing seemed worried about you..."
Just then....the parrot flies from somewhere and sits on Emperor Akbar's shoulders....the Emperor affectionately holds the pet parrot near his face...
The parrot utters to Akbar's surprise..."Jahapanah...I know you care for me... but your love for me barred me into a cage... even though the cage was of gold and precious gems...I found my freedom far more priceless...and important.... when you were quarantined and isolated for 28 days....how did you feel..a sense of being trapped...a sense of being... clutched.... same was my plight when I was in the cage... without a chance to fly......one day the caretaker forgot to lock the cage door and I escaped....then one day I heard about your illness and came back...as I was very worried about your health..."
Birbal...."Jahapanah....did you now realize how important is freedom for all living creatures... for you, me, and this bird too...a cage is a cage...no matter how expensive it may be...I request you to please not keep the poor bird in the cage....let it fly and be free....let it flap its wings higher in the sky and be happy...."
Parrot.."Yes, Jahapanah...I am made by nature to fly.... and not be held back in a cage...I promise. I will stay in your palace garden....and never leave your company and acquaintance.... but please don't put me back in the cage...."
Emperor Akbar.."I'm sorry... I have realized the true meaning of freedom and it's priceless...stay as the way you want ...oh dear parrot... you are free to stay happily in the palace garden..."
The parrot flies in the palace garden and sits on a guava tree happily pecking on some ripe pulpy guava... Emperor Akbar regularly comes to meet his pet companion... and feeds and plays with the parrot.....
Thus.... freedom is expensive...and priceless.... for all the living ones...
